Classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and teaching studios are centrally located in buildings on the campus of The University of the South. Most concerts are held in the 1,000-seat auditorium at Guerry Hall. Outdoor concerts are held in a charming courtyard known as Guerry Garth. The annual Brass Concert and large choral-orchestral works are presented in All Saints’ Chapel, an imposing neo-Gothic space with cathedral acoustics. St. Luke’s Chapel, our 125-seat recital hall, is often used as a venue for master classes and small recital performances.
Housing, Meals, and Health Service
Students are housed in university dormitories and arranged by age and gender. Dorms are supervised by qualified adults and assisted by college student proctors. The University’s campus dining facility, McClurg Dining Hall, serves meals three times daily.
Health services are available to SSMF students. University Health Services offers limited hours for non-emergencies, while Emerald-Hodgson Hospital, on campus, provides emergency and critical care services. All students must be covered by health insurance. International students may make health insurance arrangements through their airline provider or contact SSMF by May 08, 2015 at email@example.com to arrange health insurance through The University of the South.
Several special recreational outings are arranged each summer and include hiking, swimming, and caving. The Fowler Sports and Fitness center is a state-of-the-art athletic facility that houses a swimming pool, weight room, and courts for basketball, volleyball, handball, racquetball, and squash. Outdoor facilities include an all-weather track, 10 tennis courts, golf course, an equestrian center, and several fields for recreational sports.
